What is it?

Discard-Jitsu is a recreation of the popular Club Penguin mini-game Card-Jitsu. The entire game is played in Discord through chat commands and emoji reactions.

Why did I make it?

With the end of 2020 also came the end of Flash Player, and the end of many terrible but beloved flash games. One of these games was Club Penguin, or rather Club Penguin Rewritten, a fan made recreation of the game after it was shut down.

One of my favorite mini-games on Club Penguin was a game called Card-Jitsu. This game is quite simple, it's effectively rock, paper, scissors, but with one extra step. In the case of a tie, the player with the higher number on their card wins that round.

Realizing the simplicity of the game I wanted to breath new life into it, and not let it get lost to time. It's no secret that I'm not game developer, so I wanted to build it on an existing platform. So I just picked Discord, it had plenty of moderation features, and great support for bots. Just like that Discard-Jitsu was born!
